Offered for your consideration is one (1) vintage Jensen Delta-series DL-80 8 inch full-range dual-cone driver, USA-manufactured c.1967.  Please see my large photos, the Jensen specs excerpt, and read the remaining description to decide if this capable, hard-to-find Jensen speaker should be yours.

This Jensen driver is in clean, excellent overall condition.  It features a structurally sound paper cone, an ancillary or ‘whizzer’ cone for enhanced upper frequency response that’s also perfect, and an unharmed voice coil dustcap as pictured.  In addition, the suspension edging is the integral to the cone, accordion-style—not the fragile foam that would dominate the industry in future years—and it’s also in great shape.

Plus, the futuristic (for the 1960's) cast metal basket is enameled in attractive seafoam green and has no dings or true scratches, just some faint marks from the years.  And, the +/- terminals are the handy and uncommon screw-type, work perfectly, and the positive side is marked for polarity (red dot).  Overall, this Jensen DL-80 is quite well preserved.

Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds wonderful—very strong and clear with detailed midrange extending deep into treble (the purpose of the whizzer cone) and good low-end for the platform type.  Plus, I tested its DC resistance at 6.6Ω, consistent with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating.  And, having been designed in the tube amp era, this 8” platform is very efficient; it yields good output even under low input wattage.  Lastly, the basket flange measures 8 3/16” diameter, it stands 3⅜”, and the mount holes are spaced 5½” adjacent / 7¾” on the diagonal, c-t-c.

So, as pictured and described, this exceptional Jensen DL-80 8” full-range driver is offered at a competitive price.
