Arts and crafts antique oak fire surround, although the timber and detailing is in good condition, unfortunately someone over the years has used the fire surround to dry their paint brushes, so there is some paint wash on the face, but is easily removed, and is only on the surface. This still has the original gas lamp fittings attached to it, with these still being connected to the old lead gas pipes. This has come out of a house built circa 1844, so guessing this must be a pre 1900 piece. it is a large fire surround, with returns to wrap around the sides of a chimney breast. Dimensions the mantel is 2130 mm long, the overall height is 2055 mm and the 2 little return wings are 335mm long. There is also a mirror in the centre of the front. the bottom left hand corner of the front, had some bakelite electrical sockets attached, these were removed whilst the fireplace was being removed from the fireplace, but the hole the wire passed through is there. Due to the size and weight of the Fire surround, it would be collection only, i could deliver in my own vehicle at a push, but would be subject to distance and times.
