A very fine and impressive mid-19th century portrait of a Victorian gentleman, Signed J.E. Williams (a Victorian portrait painter) and dated 1849. 

Set in original heavy gilt frame.

101 x 90 cm, including frame.

Condition:
Stable condition, paint showing alligatoring (see images). Previously canvas has been laid on board and some areas have been repaired. Some paint chips to gilt frame.
