Rock in America again in 2016! Night Ranger, who has been at the forefront of American hard rock for 35 years, has their latest live performance packaged in 2016! New and old greatest hits such as Don't Tell Me You Love Me When You Close Your Eyes Night and Day. Full of it!
A special live performance was held at the House of Blues in Chicago on May 7, 2016. Tickets went on sale two months ago and sold out instantly, with a crowd of 1,300 at the venue. In addition to the stable trio of Jack Blaze (bass, vocals), Brad Gilles (guitar), and Kelly Kagy (drums), there is Eric Levy (keyboard) from Chicago, and he has been active in groups such as Vince Neil Rutt Warrent L.A. Guns. The lineup includes Keri Kelly (guitar), and new and old greatest hits will be performed.
The band starts with Touch of Madness, which was the opening song for their Japanese performances in the 1980s, and the band plays out a number of famous songs, including Don't Tell Me You Love Me, Rock in America, Sister, Christian When You Close Your Eyes, Sentimental Street, and Goodbye. Recent numbers such as Growing Up in California High Road, as well as the new song Night and Day, which was premiered ahead of the album, were enthusiastically received by the audience, proving that they are still a creative force.
The band's performance is also in great shape. Brad Gilles' guitar solos with tricky arm plays have been further refined, and his personality and technique have become an integral part of Night Ranger's sound.
Kelly, who has been active in numerous American hard rock/metal bands and accompanied Night Ranger to their 2014 tour in Japan immediately after joining Night Ranger, continues to follow the style of his predecessors and plays freely, playing 8-finger in Rock in America. He also shows how to play. Many of their lead plays are shown in close-up, allowing you to examine the essence of their solos.
Jack Blaze's vocals also captivate with their splendid firmness. There is also a stage MC who talks about the memories of Prince, who passed away two weeks before this live, and it is a video work that truly captures the Night Ranger of 2016.
Since the beginning of the 21st century, they have constantly performed in Japan and are known as the strongest live performers, but they have never produced a full rock live video. This work is a definitive album that captures the whole picture of a club gig where you are close to the audience. Night Ranger is aiming for even greater heights, with a new album and world tour scheduled for 2017. The start of this new journey will be Night Ranger 35th Anniversary Live in Chicago 2016.
