Small J.P. Coats enameled blue metal display case, made for a store to display their spools of sewing thread in the late 19th or early 20th century.

In very good condition overall, with the expected age-related signs of wear and use– small dings and chips to the edges and corners. The blue enamel has retained its rich color and the text is still clearly visible, the glass front opens and closes easily. It measures 15-1/2″ long by 10″ deep and 7″ high. Each compartment measures 1-1/4" wide by 4-1/4" long or deep. Regular spools of sewing thread fit perfectly, and one photo shows spools of Kreinik metallic stored vertically.

I believe this was the smallest size they made (it’s the smallest I’ve found) and a wonderful size for a collector as it’s small enough to easily display on a mantel or shelf. The wooden Excelsior cabinet shown below it is offered in another listing.

UPS is likely to be the least expensive shipping option but I'm happy to ship USPS as well.
