Zemaitis S24MT 2003 First Limited Order Leaf Scroll Engraved H-Mahogany wOHC 3.74kg EX++ "Tony's Collection"

Description

Zemaitis is a guitar brand created by the late Tony Zemaitis. Its history begins in 1955 with the production of an acoustic for a friend. In 1965, in response to the music scene of the 1960s, Zematis began producing electric guitars in earnest, and the metal front guitar that became synonymous with Zematis and became the model that made its name known throughout the world was born. At that time, it was completely handmade and only a few pieces were produced each year, but by the 1980s it had established an unshakable position as the world's best. Then, in 2002, Tony Zemaitis passed away, but Danny O'Brien, a sculptor who had been carving metal fronts since then, and Kanda Shokai decided to make it completely handmade like Tony Zemaitis. The name of the real Zemaitis was inherited.

This time we would like to introduce the S24MT model, which is the first S24MT model that is made to order and is special in the TONY SCOLLECTION line, which is the top model that is said to be the only genuine model in the modern era. The popular leaf scroll engraved metal top that is synonymous with Zemaitis. Although 21 years have already passed, this is a book that has maintained an excellent condition that does not make you feel it.

The custom-made specs, which utilize the techniques and know-how inherited from Tony to the utmost, include this artistic metal top carved by hand from a single sheet of duralumin. The leaf screen, which is synonymous with Zemaitis, has a unique presence that is different from cheap laser engraving. The hand-carved engravings are not only applied to the top, but also to details such as the tailpiece, escutcheon, back panel, truss rod cover, head logo plate, and jack plate. The body back is made of the finest Honduran mahogany 3P, and of course the neck is also made of the same Honduran mahogany 3P as the original.Currently, the Honmaho model is no longer produced as it has become difficult to secure the material. The fingerboard is made of high-grade material, jet black ebony with mother-of-pearl dot diamond inlay, rare 24F specification, handcrafted bridge and tailpiece molded from the original, and the body color is also the best. The popular natural finish, ultra-thin nitrocellulose lacquer, and handmade fret side treatment give it a high finish that also affects the playing surface. Players will also be happy to know that it is extremely lightweight with a total weight of approximately 3.74kg.

As for the sound, many models are equipped with EMG, but this one is equipped with DiMarzio's PAF (DP103) 2, and while it has a VintagePAF-like sound, it has a high quality that can be used in a wide range of genres. In addition, the glittering tone with low noise that is unique to a metal front includes the nuances typical of Zemaitis whether it is clean or driven, giving off a superb and unique sound that makes you feel that it is the real thing. It's a wonderful piece that has captivated many big-name guitarists. It not only has a rock-like look but also a rock-like sound.

Finally, as for the condition, there is a line scratch under the selector on the body back, some dents near the edge of the body end, picking scratches on the top mainly on the escutcheon of the rear pickup, and shallow dents on the neck back. However, considering that this item was made in 2003 and 21 years ago, it is in very good condition, although it may not be near mint. In terms of playing, the neck condition is good, with plenty of room for the truss rod, and although there is slight wear on the frets, about 8 to 9 parts remain. Of course, there are no electrical problems. The case is an original hard case with a metal engraving plate, and comes with a tool set issued by Kanda Shokai at the time.

Regarding models produced in recent years, even high-end models do not use Honduran mahogany, and the metal engraving is not hand-engraved but laser engraving, which is an inexpensive specification. The earliest production models never appeared on the market and are extremely rare, but this one is a one-of-a-kind piece that was custom-produced for a limited time. The price of the original 80's and 90's continues to soar, and it is now common for them to exceed 10 million yen, and although it is not in an affordable price range, this is a piece that can be called a genuine item in modern times. The retail price when new was approximately 1 million yen, which of course exceeds the premium given its extremely high rarity and recent price hikes, but thanks to the generosity of the previous owner, this special price is extremely reasonable. We would like to inform you about this.
