This program is from May 22nd, 1949 at Fenway Park between the Red Sox and the Detroit Tigers.

The Red Sox won 3-2 in 12 innings and what is remarkable is starting pitcher Mel Parnell pitched all 12 innings and in the bottom of the 12th, KNOCKED in the winning run. No need for a pinch hitter after 12 innings of work and Mel said, screw this, I will do everything tonight and knock in the winning run on a walkoff. I hope he was mobbed as he deserved it. He was not on a "pitch count!". This would nebver happen in today's game, never. Ted Williams went 1 for 5.

Hats off to Mel, he gets a game ball.

The program is very tight and clean. Ex-Mt or better. The original owner took great care as the program has no flaws EXCEPT the person that went to the game, wrote the outcome on the back of the program and I took a close up scan to show that.

Great program and one of my personal favorites.

Thanks for looking
