Gibson Early 70s ES-175D Sunburst

Description

ES-175D in the early 1970s

The ES-175 is popular among jazz guitarists.
This is a model from the early 1970s that features a bright sunburst.

Laminated maple body with 3-piece mahogany neck.
Rosewood fingerboard with beautiful split inlays
The original neck was shipped in the early 1970s with a 1970 body set on a 1969 model without a volute.
I inspected it under a black light, and there was no unnaturalness in the paint, and it remains original and in good condition.

The pickup is equipped with two sticker numbered PAFs.
The control pot is housed in a metal case and soldered, so although the pot date is unknown, it is likely that it has not been replaced, and the jack is also housed in a metal case.
The knob is the sombrero knob used in this era, but only the rear tone has been replaced with a non-original metal plate.

The label inside the hole is a black, white, and purple square shape, and the tailpiece shape is the chrome of a trapeze-type trapeze tailpiece, with the left and right sides of the receiving part being pointed, and three square quadrilateral reliefs lined up. This is a specification from 1970 onwards.

There are small scratches and dents scattered throughout, and there is a slight gap in the binding at the cutaway part of the body back, but considering its age, it is in good condition.
The frets are original, with about 50% remaining.
The truss rod has been confirmed up to 90mm on both sides.
The pickguard has been replaced.

Although it is a full acoustic, it produces a clear sound with a clear tone and the bass is not muffled.
The ES-175 is often used in jazz, but it is also used by various rock guitarists, including Steve Howe of YES, and can be used in a wide range of styles.
This is a must-try for guitarists looking for a crisp full acoustic sound!
