Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab 56 Les Paul STD Bigsby Heavy Aged Gold Top Dark Back

Description

MurphyLab56LesPaulSTDBigsbyHeavyAgedGoldTopDarkBack

Ishibashi Musical Instruments Store is proud of this model created by manager Wada, the guru of Gibson M2M orders!!
You haven't put a Bigsby on your Les Paul Goldtop lately, have you?
1957 LPs are often seen, so let's go with the 1956 Les Paul, which has a good sound with the recent P-90 pickup!!
Of course, with LowerLogo!! The BigsbyonGoldTop plan started with the words

Body is maple top, mahogany back
Finish: Murphy Lab Heavy Aged Double Gold, Dark Back
Overall, aged parts with dirt on the weather check, the focus is on the Bigsby, and the obsolete feeling around the ABR-1.
Of course, I can't stand the peeling of the finish on the top elbow and the peeling of the scratches on the buckle on the back of the body.
The neck uses a 1959 Les Paul neck shape and rolled binding.

The pickup is a CustomP-90 single pickup with a good attack feel and a good mid sound.
It is also a good pickup to drive.
Recently, there has been an increase in the number of P-90 artists among both domestic and overseas artists!!

Weight is 4.2kg with Bigsby
It has a well-balanced sound with a solid bass, thick and sticky midrange, and glittering treble.
Highly recommended!!

-MurphyLab explanation-
MurphyLab, born within the Custom Shop, is an aging department where an artisan team led by vintage expert and aging pioneer Tom Murphy creates innovative aged products using new technology.

Tom Murphy, a founding member of the Gibson Custom Shop and project leader for the development of the Historic Collection, has been active in the art of aging, which gives new guitars a vintage look and feel.

In between, it has helped age the models of many legends, including Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Slash, Joe Walsh, Billy Gibbons, Joe Perry, Peter Frampton, Dickie Betts, and Gary Rossington.

Tom Murphy and Gibson scientifically analyzed the nitrocellulose lacquers of the 1950s and 1960s, which by their nature caused cracks called weather check under the finish as they aged, and uncovered the process behind this change. After extensive testing with prototypes of all models, we developed a lacquer process that reproduces the natural weather check look of vintage models.

Based on the Historic Collection, Murphy Lab products are an innovative aged product that combines this new lacquer process with the hand-aging techniques that Tom Murphy has honed over the years. The look, the feel, and the sense of ownership.
