Pelican Dare Devil 15’5” Canoe

This is a great canoe for beginners to canoeing, experienced paddlers, family trips, overnightcamping or just fun days on the water and picnic in the sun.

It is very stableand secure on the water and easy to keep a straight line. The trade off is thatit is quite heavy (37kg). Itis designed to provide a smooth balanced ride.

Made from the ‘bomb-proof’ RamX material which is very strong. It has stratches on the underside as you would expect from the River Wye ‘rapids’ and beaches. But all cosmetic. Inside is in excellent condition.

Seats 3 easily and we had 4 in when our sons were younger – sitting sideby side in the middle (on a wooden board I still have if wanted). When paddled by 2 it really cruises well. Never really done much solo paddling in it but reviews on line suggest it is fine.

Bought new some years ago and used mostly on River Wye, Avon &Thames and local canals. Great fun and have done a few canoe – camp trips which the Dare Devil is great for as it is so stable and loads of storage space. It has a chiller/cool box seat in the middle.

Reluctant sale, but it is not being used enough and so looking to give it a new home and for it to be used.

Included in the sale is a trolley (worth £35) which helps transport the canoe to launch site. Plus two paddles. We have had it on roof bars with tension straps and always feels very stable. Two people can easily move it and get on roof bars. One person can with a little practice.

The equivalent Pelican canoe cost c £700+ new without the extras and these canoes just don’t really degrade over time.

The Pelican Daredevil RamX is a great canoe. Pack up the built-in cooler with some drinks and a lunch,grab some fishing poles to put in the vertical rod holders if you like, and get ready for some fun. We have taken our canoe into lakes, rivers, and canals with great results. With plenty of room for any accoutrements you want to bring along it can be taken out for the day, or an overnight and easily contain anything you might need. It can be handled by one person when necessary or desired; after-all drinks need to be opened by someone. With both people paddling you can really move right along.
