A tasteful Paul Stuart men's suit that I purchased as new, deadstock around five or six years ago.

When I purchased it, the original tags (photo #23) were still attached to the jacket sleeve and vest, respectively. I removed the tags, had the cuffs and pant legs hemmed. I subsequently wore the suit only once or twice and so would describe it as essentially a new vintage suit.

The suit was made for Paul Stuart by Samuelsohn in Canada, using wool woven in England.

I cannot determine the production year precisely but think that it dates from the late 1970s or early 1980s based on the design of the Paul Stuart label as well as Stuart's aesthetic at the timesomewhat Ivy / Trad but with a slightly fancier (more expensive) and sometimes English nuance.  The union label is partially sewn underneath an inner pocket lining, so I cannot estimate a production date from that.

The wool is woven in a dark gray herringbone pattern, with a subtle, windowpane pattern in red.
