The top material of Gibson's original round shoulder body is made of Adirondack red pruce, which is said to have been used in 1942. Furthermore, by applying a special heat treatment that changes the wood at the cellular level right up to the point where it becomes carbonized, the wood is thermally aged to produce a sound similar to that of vintage instruments that have been used for many years. The bracing is also made of red spruce and glued together with glue.The sides and back are made of genuine genuine mahogany, mainly from Guatemalan in Central and South America, resulting in a lightweight overall finish.
