I tested the play on CDs and Cassettes as well as the record from Cassette and LP using the phono input. Records directly from your turntable to this unit using the phono input on the back. I finalized the CDs and played them on another deck to make sure that worked. I got my instructions from a you tube video. It also can record from other line in sources and USB. What an awesome machine. Not only a cassette player and recorder but a CD player and recorder too! This is deck only with no remote or owners manual. Uses blank Music CDs to record, I happen to have a few and will include one.
