This is an authentic antique bandanna from Teddy Roosevelt's presidential campaign, his much-loved fedora at the center symbolizing “throwing his hat into the ring!” It measures 18” square, and it is 100% cotton. It is approximately 112 years old.

Bandannas were a souvenir giveaway at Mr Roosevelt’s campaign stops, and its owner preserved this one carefully. It doesn’t appear ever to have been used or laundered.

I’ve photographed a tear along one of the original folds, caused no doubt by time. Also, Mr Roosevelt’s face is unevenly pigmented in its repetition around the square. This is surely a manufacturing artifact. These bandannas weren’t planned to last forever but—this one did!

I’m not a historian and I’m selling this “as found,” but will answer your questions to the best of my knowledge. Thanks for your interest!
