YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE ENTIRE CONTENTS, ALL 8 DRAWERS of a well preserved Zephyr 8 drawer storage case containing over 1150 35 mm slides, nearly 500 of which are red border Kodachrome that came from the estate of a retired military officer and chronicles his years as a cadet at the Eastern Military Academy ( EMA ) in Cold Spring Harbor Long Island NY, and subsequent early years at Alfred University's ROTC program. EMA was housed in what is now the Oheka Castle Hotel and restaurant. A web search will detail the history of OHEKA from its creation in 1919 by industrialist Otto Kahn.

Absolutely amazingly, each of the slides in the eight drawers are individually hand numbered in pencil and found in their numbered place in their respective drawers. However many are out of sequence but nonetheless labeled.  Additionally, there are cards that identify who, usually by name, is in each numbered slide. I have taken photos of both sides of these cards.  What a catalog! The dating on the cards and slides span from 1955 through 1961. The cars and the style of dress corroborate the dating to the mid to late 50’s. There are loads of well photographed images from the academy, including parade drilling, socializing, putting on shows (including comical cross dressing) as well as lots images of travel, football, baseball, hunting, the1961 Watkins Glen grand prixe, holidays, family and friends and more. It is a uniquely detailed and well preserved history of the early years of their owner. I have put photos of the contents of each drawer as well as some close ups so you can see for yourself what’s contained in this amazing lot. A collectors dream.
