This is an original Souvenir Concert Program from a unique and educational program by the Lauren Pelon Musique Company. This particular concert, entitled "The Living Roots of Music", took place in Tennessee in 1990, sponsored by the Tennessee Humanities Council.

Lauren Pelon *see below* performed on a wide variety of ancient and modern instruments including gems horns, recorders, doucaine, corn amuse, schreierpfeife, hrummhorn, Shawn, racket, ocarina, penny whistles, concertina, lute, guitar, Indian flute, bowed psaltery, plucked psaltery, hurdy-gurdy, Yamaha EW20 electronic woodwind, Suzuki SRW-100 midi-recorder, Eskimo drum, etc.

The program includes information about Lauren Pelon, listings of the musical pieces performed and the instruments used, and extensive illustrations and historical quotations about music grouped chronologically into sections such as "The Philosophers' View of Music" (with quotes from Plato and Aristotle), "Before Musical Notation" (with quotes from Boethius and Isidore of Seville), "Music and the Church" (with quotes from St. Basil, St. Augustine, Pope John XXII, Martin Luther), etc.

The program is 16 pages long, and measures approximately 4" x 11". It is in excellent condition, with no markings, tears, folds or creases.

My parents attended the performance, and the program has been stored in their clean, non-smoking home since then.

If you don't already have this item, it will be a valuable addition to your Lauren Pelon or Ancient Music concert collection!

I am selling all of my and my parents' collection of theatre and concert programs.   Please check out my other listings for additional vintage items, which have been stored in my parents' clean, non-smoking home for several decades.
