Botanical name: Diospyros celebica
Country of origin: Southeast Asia, Indonesia

This is Makassar ebony veneer, also called Coromandel. Its elegant dark veneer has a gray-brown to red-brown base tone with partly regular and partly irregular dark brown to black color stripes. The wood is strikingly shiny and very decorative. Please note that, especially with Macassar/ebony, cracks/fine hairline cracks/mistakes can occasionally occur - and you always have to take into account waste! As well as Especially with wild structures, the grain can sometimes change slightly from leaf to leaf, everything from one continuous trunk, we usually photograph from the middle of a veneer bundle with 24 leaves - PLEASE keep this in mind before purchasing these exclusive precious wood veneers!

These Makassar wood veneers are only rough cut, which means that the ends/edges may not yet be 100% precisely cut, hairline crack at the ends, all consecutive leaves. The veneer sheets only serve as raw material/starting material for many different applications such as DIY projects, hobbyists, jewelry, marquetry, artists, designers and all kinds of craftsmen..... and still has to be edited and processed yourself. In general, you should always plan enough waste for the project and should never count on the maximum width and length specified here! Fine hairline cracks can occasionally appear at the end of the leaves - this is the nature of the product and cannot always be avoided. The dimensions are given with minimum and maximum values.
