Here is a beautiful piece of Genuine Australian Precious Opal.  Large partial cut piece showing the awesome play of color.

The top is partially polished. One small spot of matrix, care could be taken to polish it out.  The size and shape is portrayed in the photos and item specifics. Different play of color depending on the light source, in and out of water, and in my hand and against dark background. Size is shown on ruler.  If you need more info, let me know.  This is AA Opal in my humble opinion.

   My husband was an award winning jeweler/artist.  He LOVED opal.  Sadly he passed away as a result of an accident and left a huge amount of opal uncut.  The opal was purchased at the Tuscon Gem show in the late 1990s.  It has been kept in water-filled jars.  Very Stable.
