UPDATED PICS OF DRIVESIDE 3/16/24

Item: 1994/1995 Specialized S-Works Steel frame.

(It has a 1994 serial number, but looking online there's info that it was made to be sold as a '95 model year.

Condition & History: Used, but it's good/great condition. An 7/8 out of 10 appearance rating. Performance rating is 10 out of 10, if you have the fitness. I took as many close up pictures of the joint areas to show there are no frame crack/rust issues.

- Issues are the normal paint chips & scratches from trail use and chain suck. But compared to what's out there, this has one of the least chain suck scar tissue. This frame also has the most original intact stickers and decals that I found at the time when I bought it.

- No stripped crossed threads.
- Minimal to no rust.
- Bought it 12yrs ago on ebay. Rust prevention fluid was sprayed in the tubes. Then the frame was allowed to dry in the Southwest heat of summer. After a week in the shade with high temps of 90+ degrees, I sprayed/poured linseed oil on the inside of the tubes to prevent any future rust. It's been keep inside the home for the entire time either built up or in a bike box.

***any touch ups to the frame were done by the previous owners and I just left it there.

***Please look at the pictures closely for condition.

What & Why.

What?
An old school S-Works bike frame made from Tange Prestige Superlight tubing for those back in the day that wanted a good high end steel frame but couldn't afford any custom steel or could get a Fat Chance.  These S-works frames were built in Japan, not in Taiwan on a bike assembly line like the Stumpjumpers. The tube set was the "Direct Drive Works with Precision Long Taper, Short butted tubes" with a them measuring .8/.5/.8.

Why am I selling it?
I bought this years ago for a display bike build, hence the great condition. I'm selling it now because it's just time to move on and let this get ridden.

Description & Specs.

  • Frame size: 18" (measured from center of b/b to top of top tube) how specialized measured it back then (standover with 26" wheels. Some measure from center to center, in that case it would be a 17.5", but Specialized didn't measure that way back then.
  • Top tube length: 22.5"
  • Headtube: 1"
  • Wheelsize: 26" with quick old school quick release skewers
  • Seat post size: 26.8 (some pics have a seat binder bolt in them. The seat binder bolt IS NOT included in the sale of the frame.
