Original WW1 British Army document regarding "BOMBING ATTACKS" on German Trenches using MILLS GRENADES.

It sets out the "GENERAL PRINCIPLES and ORGANIZATION of COMPANIES in a BOMBING ATTACK", and draws on recent experiences from the frontline...

The document isn't actually dated, but referring to a similar document in my possession, the 'recent bombing attacks' took place at the infamous HOHENZOLLERN REDOUBT during the BATTLE of LOOS, during which a VICTORIA CROSS was won by Sgt Oliver Brooks in one such raid. That dates the document to the second half of October 1915.

Produced on official King's Crown watermarked Stationery Office paper.

Measures 33cm x 20.

From a rare archive of fascinating WW1 documents I have in my possession, relating to various aspects of trench warfare. They have survived well, with some areas of rust staining from paper clips and pins due to a century of lying in storage.

In excellent condition.
