EARLY 20TH CENTURY AMERICAN TRAMP ART ANTIQUE SMALL HOMEMADE DARK STAINED OAK TWO-DRAWER CHEST, MADE from SALVAGED, FOUND MATERIALS, featuring LATHE-TURNED WOODEN DRAWER PULLS, in MATTE, DRY WOOD FINISH
[Very cool & in terrific shape. This early 20th century American Tramp art, antique primitive, small two drawer, dark stained, oak hardwood storage chest or toy bureau made for a young girl & her coveted doll, is entirely fashioned from found, salvaged oak wood pieces. The chest of drawers is well-made & not rickety, as toy bureaus of this era are usually found. It features all wood construction & nailed drawer faces & case sidewalls. The four lathe-turned drawer pulls were no doubt salvaged from another piece of wood furniture & fastened to the drawer facia of this diminutive chest. It has very nice, refined lines & overall form, mimicking antique period chests of drawers of the Victorian era. It was stained in a dark walnut color, most likely using pine pitch, to darken the oak hardwood to the color it is now. This Tramp Art piece of miniature furniture was spawned from a time of economic depression & financial need. It's craft & ingenuity are on full display. In great shape & absolutely, 100% untouched. Very nice.]
