A pair of vintage Negretti & Zambra binoculars/ opera glasses with soft leather case.

The black leather case is lined with red silk material.

It has an ornate clasp and the press-button release is decorated with a lion.

When the binoculars are in use the case can be squashed down to fit in a pocket or handbag.

On one eyepiece there is the name ‘Negretti & Zambra, London’; around the other ‘Opticians Paris’.

Fully extended they measure 9cm x 11cm; closed 7cm x 11cm wide.

They look good and are in good working condition and overall the wear is minimal,

but there is a dent to the eyepiece (photo 11) by the word ‘Negretti’ and

some of the enamel has cracked (photo 12).

These are vintage and the case has signs of wear, rubs, scratches, but the stitching is firm.
