A vintage Paddington Bear 5 book box-set.

Young Puffin editions published by Penguin books

Hard board box printed in pink containing 5 paperback titles featuring Paddington Bear.

The five titles are:

1) Paddington At Large,

2) Paddington Marches On,

3) Paddington Abroad,

4) Paddington Helps Out, and

5) Paddington At Work.

Each is signed in ink by both the author and the Illustrator (Michael Bond and Peggy Fortnum respectively).

Each is further inscribed by the author and one (Paddington Abroad) also includes an ink drawing/ doodle of Paddington Bear wearing a triangular hat and with a briefcase.  Also initialed PF lower right of the drawing. The inscription appears slightly smudged/ faded so please see the photograph included.

This set dates from the late 60's to early 70's Each bearing different copyright dates.

Each include their original printed prices to the covers.

Just One of the books (Paddington at Work) has a neat owners inscription: 'for our dearest grandson Noel on your 6th birthday with our love nanny and gramps'.

All books are in very good condition with some light soiling here and there, light dog ears, slight page discolouration, minor spine creases and very minor shelf edge wear.

There is wear to the outer extremities of the box and the spine of the box slightly sun-faded. Box is however still sound and firm.

All in all a bright and clean set.

Rare in that each book is signed by both author and Illustrator and even more so as one also includes a hand drawn sketch/ doodle of Paddington Bear by the Illustrator.
