Antique early North American style Iron floor candle/rush holder pair.

Dates from around late 18th centrary/ early 19th centuary period. Handmade / Blacksmith built 3-leged stand with Arrow Head feet standing some 5ft tall with an adjustable arm to fix a candle or taper or rush to end. Eye-let holes for use of a string/wick arrangement that would have lower end placed into a jug/can/bottle of whale oil or parrafin and by capilary action would draw the fluid to the wick. Could so easily be electrified at buyers expense or wish.

Do not know the country of origin but as said, it is early settler North American in style. Could easily be converted to electric power or restored to candle power. [see final photo for a typical example of effect if buyer were to electrify them].              This I have now done using some wrought iron candle holders and sconces, while retaining the originality of the peice. See latter 3 photos.

Surface has been wire brushed to remove worst of surface rust.
