1967 Seiko Sportsmatic 5 Diashock 21 Jewel Automatic Wristwatch EXCELLENT
Seiko Sportsmatic 5 Automatic 21 jewel Diashock wristwatch. Waterproof; 6619-8970; SGP; manufactured in January of 1967. Serial number 7112506. Includes original Seiko gold filled band.
The case is approximately 35mm wide. The face is 30mm wide.
This is not a winding type watch. It winds itself with movement on your wrist. The day of the week is automatically turned over every 24 hours. The date is changed by pushing on the crown. If you do not wear it often you can move it by hand to wind it once a day or they have automatic rocking winders for this type of watch.
Condition:
This is a 57 year old watch that looks nearly new. The crystal is clear and clean with NO scuffs or scratches. Super clean case on the top. Very, very mild wear on the bottom case cap. The band is in Very Good+ Condition. Minor scuffs and wear.
Just back from the jewelers. Demagnetized and the balance assembly was cleaned and oiled. Keeps EXCELLENT time.
EDIT: My wrist has roughly a 'circumference' of 6 7/8". The band fits perfectly on my wrist.
You could look for years and never find a Seiko watch this old and in this condition.
