Sports and fight (Kampf) was an important word in that time. Also the word SIEG (comparing to "Sieg Heil!" of the NS-Regime) as winner and a looser. Nations fighting against another. Sport was a vehicle to transport feeling of "national victory". But that was stupid: not the nation win or won, only some excellent individuals are becoming WINNERS and Top-Stars of their nation. Propaganda made them to heroes. Think about this words. Political instruments = sport as a medium to transport feelings of force, power efforts, and so on...
