A beautiful miniature portrait of Charles I's baby son in watercolour. This is painted after Van Dyke's same portrait and a popular historical painting that has been reproduced over the ages.

It's behind glass and framed in a dark wood-style chalk frame with papered back. There's a few knocks to the frame along the edges but nothing serious. The painting itself is unsigned and stood the test of time.

Difficult to date - I bought this as a French piece from the 19th century, although the original seller thought this to be an unknown girl rather than the Stuart King's son.

The painting itself is approximately 9cm across. The frame is 25cm x 21cm. It's hung by an old string mount.
