'Tales of Travel' by Marquess Curzon of Kedleston,

who a Royal Geograpgical Society medalist and also a former president of the society (1911-1914).
Kedleston Hall was his Derbyshire seat, now a well-known mansion house partyly open to the public.

Published by George Doran Co, New York, printed in the USA, 1923.

Excellent substantial book covering various countries in the Middlle Eastand further,

with two foldouts - a drawn map of Afganistan (by a famous local map maker) and a letter from Amir.

Many photos on cards attached.

As the publisher says, Curzon was a really good story teller, it's an absobning read.

The dust jacket was restored with a cellophane cover as it was torn in places, see photos.

Covers underneath in very good condition with gilded deetail intact, bumped / scuffed corners of spine but not bad. General darkening on edges (uncut) as typical for aged books.

Very good condition inside, clean and no damage.
