Dismantling my personal collection reserve. For sale is this professional High-End CRT Monitor SUN Microsystems GDM-5510 from family of Sony CR1 Chassis, including the legendary GDM-F520, CPD-G520, HP P1130 or IBM P275, similar to GDM-FW900. As far as Sony CRTs go, these were the most advanced 21" Trinitron Aperture Grille models. Nice blacks even without warmup. Photos were taken at 60 level brightness, nothing like old rough shape Trinitrons that are grayed out after 10. Monitor is in the original factory state, it was never repaired or WinDAS adjusted. Vivid, saturated colors, razor sharp focus, both geometry and convergence are spot on. The uptime hour counter shows 5199 hours power-on time, thats barely 217 days of usage in the last 22 years! Monitor literally feels like a new old stock item, by both image and outer aesthetic. Extremely rare to find in this shape these days. At some point I had owned every variant of 21" FD Trinitron G1 / CR1 monitors, the GDM-5510 was and still is my favourite of them all. I had three of these, first was sold to USA, Florida, second was bought by a collector from Australia, this is the third and the last of them. 

Monitor comes from first owner and was very shortly used in a datacenter, hooked to a SUN Microsystems workstation before it was replaced with LCD. Screen is flawless, antiglare coating untouched, no scratches, no smudges or spots - if you see anything weird looking on the photos, its just a reflection. Casing is like new, some very light scratches on the right side of bezel that you can all see on the photos. No cracks, chips, dents or other damage. Comes with undamaged, working swivel stand.  Plastics are clean, without dirt, they are not brittle like it is common on older CRTs, they are without sun discoloration. The package has dimensions of 750x750x750mm @ 40kg, including custom box with 50mm polystyrene lining from all sides, cardboard insulation, air cushioning, bubble foil and stretch foil. For a package this big, shipping to UK is about 300€, most EU states 250-350€, overseas (CA,US etc.) about 990 to 1500€, depends on location. DURING THE TRANSPORT, SCREEN MAY OR MAY NOT BE INFLUENCED BY MAGNETS FROM NEARBY DEVICES. IT IS RECOMMENDED TO USE DEGAUSS FUNCTION BEFORE DOING ANY ADJUSTMENTS TO THE IMAGE ITSELF. IN THE CASE OF STRONGER MAGNETS, A DEGAUSSING COIL MIGHT BE NEEDED TO RESTORE IMAGE. THIS IS NOT A DEFECT, IT IS A COMMON FEATURE OF ALL CRT SCREENS.
