This scarce antique, wood box crate from S.S.Pierce CO. is a rare find many of these crates where destroyed.  Measurements are 19"×10.5"×6".  Dove tail and newer hinges added and originals still in place. This was a shipping crate for food or wine and catered to the carriage trade and also imported goods from all over the world. S.S. Pierce Company sold out in 1969 and no longer in existence. The color of the box is a rich brown with a chip missing shown in picture.
