You are viewing a wonderful piece commemorating the completion of the Trans Alaska Pipeline.  The attached plaque reads, "Brand Insulations,  Inc., Trans Alaskan Pipeline, Jan. 13, 1977, Jack McAllister".  The company was likely contracted for work on the pipeline and they were awarding this to an employee who was important to the project.  The sculpture features a cut out image of the state of Alaska on a base.  Both the top and the attached base are curved because they are made out of actual pieces of the material that makes up the pipeline.  The pipe walls are substantially thick and heavy.  The piece weighs 4 lbs. and measures 8.5" wide x 6" high x 3.25" deep.  It stands unassisted on a slight angle.

This item is in very good pre-owned condition and clean.  There are a few light scratches and some small tarnish spots, but nothing severe.  A very cool piece of US History.  It will be packaged with care and shipped with your choice of UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail.
