A stunning pairing of a bare bones combat used M1 helmet. There is faint trace of medical tape on the front of the shell indicating that the wearer held the rank of captain. The shell is an early production with a stamp of 115B and fixed bales with the sewn on OD3 chin straps. Paired with this salty, combat used Westinghouse liner webbed with rayon also bearing captain’s bars on the front. The webbing is fragile and has obviously seen its fair share of combat during the Second World War. The original fixed leather chin strap is still present and still attacked - pretty stiff but solid.
