This auction is for a stunning genuine Carnelian bead necklace Made in the USA for the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  This necklace measures 18" long and has an oval carnelian centerpiece that measures 2 3/8" across.  This fine piece can be found on the MET Store website where it is described as a copy of a Greek, Late Hellenistic 1st century B.C. necklace - retail price is $145.  The findings are covered in 24k gold plating - the hook clasp is stamped USA MMA.  This necklace was Pre-Owned but NEVER WORN - it comes with its' original paper tag and MET box.   Condition is Mint.
