1988 MZ ETZ 250
NO RESERVE AUCTION.
Only 3200 miles !

Hello and welcome to the auction of my ETZ 250.

As stated above the bike was built in 1988 and then registered over here in August 1990. I have the original suppliers documents (see photos) to confirm this and to confirm that the original engine is sill in the bike. This is the last production year for the ETZ 250 before it became the ETZ 251, the last of the proper DDR bikes in my opinion.

As can be seen in the photos it is in very nice condition, the only fly in the ointment cosmetically is shown in the photos, petrol has got under the lacquer on the tank and lifted paint slightly around the filler cap. I have left it though because the rest of the paint is very nice. It has rebuilt wheels , recent exhaust etc. When I got the bike it was over charging so I have put an electronic regulator on and a new battery, all is well now.

It runs and rides as it should, I have improved the handling at the front end by putting two aluminium slugs in the fork legs, this has stiffened the forks slightly and it handles very well indeed now. The brakes have been improved with a modern master cylinder and braided line.

The bike is MOT'd until June but I see no reason why it would fail and if it makes over £1800 I will put a new MOT on it or take £30 off so you can get it done yourself.

I have a van and could deliver it within around 100 miles of Lancaster for the cost of fuel and a sarnie. Please ask me first though if you want it delivered before bidding and I'll give  you a price.

Why am I selling? Well, I love MZ's ( I have this one and two racing ETZ's) and I have a desire for another ES250 trophy so the ETZ has to go to make way for an older cousin!

Please no PayPal on this , it's cash or transfer on collection / delivery only please and as it's no reserve I don't want to end early. There is no buy it now. Viewing is welcome, you can contact me on here or by phone on 07859 263488. The bike is in North Lancashire, 15 minutes from M6 Junction 34.

That's it then - happy bidding zedders!
