The Australian publisher Cleveland was founded in 1953. Throughout that decade and on into the 60s and 70s, Cleveland published thousands of short Western novels, including the first books by Leonard F. Meares, better known as Marshall Grover. Cleveland also published the Larry Kent mystery novels, but the company's main output was always Westerns, under such imprints as Bison Western, Tumbleweed Western, Lobo Western, Santa Fe Western . . .The company continues to publish new Western novels at the rate of eight per month, as well as selling reprints of some of the older books.  

Anthony Scott Veitch (1914-1983) was an Australian writer of radio, films, novels and TV. He worked for a number of years in British film and TV. His feature credits include The Kangaroo Kid (1950) and Coast of Skeletons (1964).   He wrote more than 100 novels, including westerns and historical fiction.   Anthony Scott Veitch used pen-names Clint Derrett;  Dan Kestrel;   J. Cobb Collier;  and Scott McLure.
