Movement:
A 1950 (s/n U-21057), 15 Jewel Model 554, 4 Adjustment, Elgin 8/0 Movement, It has a good mainspring and a good balance. The movement has been fully wound, running and keeping decent time. It has not been timed for accuracy nor is the service history known and is being sold “as is”, After 15+ years in storage, the oils and lubrications have dried or degenerated, a service and cleaning is in order.
This watch has been packed away for a minimum of 15 years, the oils and lubrication’s have dried, the movement has not been recently serviced, even though it is running and keeping time the service history is unknown and is being sold as is and “Not Running”.
The Two-Piece Stainless Steel Elgin Signed Case measures 39mm's Long from Lug Tip to Tip and 32mm's Wide, not including the Crown. The case is in excellent condition, A good buffing and this one will shine like new.
Crystal, Dial and Band:
Crystal: The Plexi-Glass Crystal is clean and clear, a light buffing and it will look brand new.
Dial: The Elgin Signed Dial is aged, its will be up to the new owner as to whether a re-dial is in order…..I like my dials like this one.
Band: The Band is a 17mm Stitched Black Leather Band, it’s an older band that looks to have never been worn and appears to still be on good condition despite being 15+ years old. The band with the watch measures 7.5 inches from the buckle to the third hole.
Although This Watch is running, it is being sold as “Not Running”. It is Sold in "as is" condition with no warranty and no guarantees, this watch will need servicing and/or adjusting of some kind. Please look at the pics closely, they are close up and show every detail, what you see is what you get. If I have failed to point something out it isn’t intentional, if you have questions please ask.
