I have for sale a 1966 Bedford CA Dormobile Romany
Campervan in original condition in need of a tidy
up and general restoration.
Relatively rust-free example van all there save for
the cabinetry.
As seen in the photos the front fender panels are
there in the back of the vehicle as are many other parts including the original
(Hard to find (Captain seats), Purchased from another Bedford Dormobile
requiring reupholstering. Currently not running and is a project but rare and
cooler than a Kombi priced to sell.
Old early Bedford CA’S are getting extremely
hard to find and this English delivered vehicle is one only a few to have made
it to Oz so making it very rare indeed.
The surprise is that the camper part of
the van is still all there and in reasonable condition In need of TLC, the cab
has a few small areas of rust as is usual in these older beds but chassis looks
good. The fibreglass part of camper is straight. All in all, a straight
vehicle, making it ripe, for a Restoration project.
Engine is a Holden Red 202 that had
been reconditioned a number of years ago so pretty straight forward in regards
to servicing and parts.
A much rarer and interesting
alternative to Kombies and the like. One that’ll really stand out from the
crowd. Make a great festival and interstate traveller when in fine
fettle. Just don’t have the space at this point in time to keep her
so hoping to find it a good home worthy of it.
Vehicle currently located in Daylesford
