You are bidding on a Hallicrafters S-38B Receiver.
If you started out in Ham Radio in the 1950's and early 1960's, you may have started with this receiver or one of the other S-38 series Hallicrafters receivers.
This is a 5 tube single conversion superhet covering 0.54 to 32 MHz built from 1949-1952 with a black crackle finish. Unlike so many S-38's, this unit is complete. It has all of the correct knobs and has the bottom and back covers. The radio plays well and sounds good. I listened to AM broadcast stations and WWV at 5 and 10 MHz. Cosmetically, this is a pretty nice radio.
