Georgian era tiger cowrie shell snuff box with a silver mount and lid. Likely from late 18th Century Germany. 

Silver lid is engraved with a delightful floral and scrolling pattern, and on the inside it is inscribed 'Von Meiner Mutter', translating to 'From My Mother'. 

Though it was not super common for these snuff boxes to be marked, historically they were at least .900 silver.
