He studied architecture at the Universidad Politécnica, philosophy at the University of Barcelona, and design at EINA School of Barcelona.
His first exposition took place in 1970, as part of the Catalan conceptual movement. In 1974 he began to use the body as a vehicle and instrument for his work, making performances and installations. In the mid-eighties beginning to realize small scales collage compositions, bringing together texts, drawings and objects with large doses of irony and poetry. His installations and performances during this period focus on the artist’s exploration of his own body.
During the 1980s, he created collages and works in two and three dimensions, mixing a fantasy world with everyday objects.
He had solo exhibitions at the Sala de exposiciones del Ateneo de Barcelona, (1970); The Floor of Fame, in Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris (1978); Niños buenos niños malos, in Sala Montcada - Fundación "La Caixa", Barcelona (1992) and Project room Carlove en el bosque borrador, ARCO´98.
He received the National Prize for Visual Arts in Catalonia in 2008, the National Prize for Plastic Arts from the Spanish Ministry of Culture in 2004, and the City of Madrid Prize in 2003.
