Mamod SE3c 1937 - 1939 era, apparently quite rare. I have owned this for 50 odd years and it was steaming last time Back in the 1980’s dry stored since. Did start to polish the boiler a few years ago but realised it would require dismantling to finish and didn’t proceed further.

No box

This is quite a rare, pre war engine and deserves to be preserved as it is, a sympathetic clean is all it needs. The shaft and reduction gear are missing but Meccano parts may do for now. The burner is much later, 1950's,but a lookalike can be made and the whistle is missing. The steam feed from the boiler also needs straightening and the solder on the boiler dealing with.

The darker shade of red underneath the base is as it should be. The Mamod version has the lighter red, as this has, but Hobbies engines ( made by Mamod for Hobbies) had the darker red. Thanks to Mike Jane for these added details.
