Notes: A small flask, or vase, of blue glass with two applied handles, made in the manner of 1st-2nd Century Roman glass, decorated ‘a scavo’, a decorative effect established in Murano, Italy, which emulates the chemical processes ancient buried glass undergoes through applied finishes during manufacture – here, encrustation and iridescence. It probably dates to the 1990s, and is possibly Italian.
