This antique sailor's valentine silhouette is a beautiful piece of folk art that dates back to 1908. The silhouette features a woman and a Scottie dog, with the words "To My Darling Mabel" written on the reverse. The piece is made from high-quality materials and has been well-preserved over the years, making it an excellent addition to any antique collection. It was made by Ida May Oatman and the label states the flowers were all gathered at around 9000 feet up in the mountains. This is not to be confused with the much more modern mass produced examples available online. It measures roughly 8 3/4” by 10 3/4” and shows age associated wear. Please view the photos carefully to best understand the condition.
