This auction is for an unusual signed MONET Victorian inspired golden pearl necklace with a perfume locket pendant.   I am calling it unusual because I am not sure if the 2 pieces go together.  The necklace measures 21" long and is made up of gold coated pearls that are knotted tightly in between using black and gold thread.   The locket measures 2" long and has open-work on the front and back.  This type of locket opens to reveal a compartment made to hold a cotton ball dipped in perfume - or a sachet with herbs.  While the piece is worn, the scent surrounds you.  The lobster clasp allows the necklace to be adjusted down from 21" to 19" - the Monet tag hangs off the other end.    The pendant has no makers' mark on it.   This piece was previously owned but has no damage.  All gold plating is intact and bright.  The golden pearls are beautiful - no peeling - all rhinestones are clear and sparkling.  The only "flaw" if you want to call it that is the pearls seem to be strung a bit too tight - but it could be because it was stored tight in a small baggie - the metallic thread should hang fine when worn.    Condition is excellent!
