A common early fault with the KRUPS is the failure of the 'delicate' switch on the front. See picture of a replacement Having fitted a strengthen replacement it would work and then not. I isolated the problem to be the micro switches. These switches detect if the collection hopper and lid are in place. Rewiring eliminated the problem. BUT please consider the condition carefully.
