Medium: Original watercolor painting

Date: 2nd half 20th century

Dimensions: Framed under matt with visible sheet measuring about 12-3/4 x 9-1/2 inches; in period (original?) dark wood frame measuring 18 x 14-1/4 inches.

Condition: Not examined out of frame, some cockling to sheet at edges, otherwise painting appears to be in very good condition.

Notes: Signed in pencil beneath the dog, 'Huertas'; additionally titled at bottom, 'Clochard de Paris'.

Biography: 

Alice Huertas (French, 20th century)

Huertas is a French artist known for her watercolor paintings, particularly of French pin ups and can-can girls of the 1930s. Her work has been offered at auction multiple times, with a highest realized price of 339 USD for her 'Balzac et les Chouans,' sold at Bertolami Fine Arts in 2021.
