I was raised along side this special candy dish.  My Mother always had some type candy to serve or give as incentives for accomplishments.  I'm now 80 yrs young and I don't ever remember when this dish would not be in our home.  I'm dating it 1940's or 1950's.  Yes, it Does have some flaws now...  There are some dents in the rim of the lid and handle edges have seen better days!  Or maybe the dents are indications that they WERE wonderful days - seeing Lemon Drops; Mints of all kinds; different colors of the layered licorice pieces; special chocolates at Christmas time!  Aw - sweet memories!  But now it's time to send this little dish onward to conjure up future memories for someone else!  The flower and leaves on top are still in good condition.
