Gibson CF-100

Description

A compact body, cutaway design model, released in 1950 and discontinued in 1959, making it a rare model that has existed for only 10 years.
The CF-100E with a pickup was also released a year later, but both are less likely to be discontinued compared to other models.
According to the document, there were 325 bottles in 1950 when it was released, which is extremely small compared to the LG-1's 2,653 bottles.
In fact, in recent years it has rarely been released as a product, making it a very rare model.
It is also famous for being used by Jackson Browne for a long time.
It is a compact and easy-to-carry instrument, and has good playability in high positions, making it an instrument that can be used in actual performances.
The top is spruce, the sides and back are mahogany, Jacaranda fingerboard, and Jacaranda bridge.
The pegs are three Kluson brass posts, but they have been replaced with two-line ones from the mid-1960s. The original is also included, but we cannot expect it to work in practical terms.
The nut remains original and has been refret adjusted with new taller frets.
The neck angle has been corrected, making it very easy to play.
There is some distortion around the sound hole due to the characteristics of the cutaway body at that time, but there is no particular problem.
There are paint chips on the head edge, nail dents in the low position, and pick scratches on the outside of the pickguard from around the sound hole.
Although there is some wear and tear on the paint on the back low position of the neck, and there are some scratches throughout, it still retains the gloss of the new paint and is in excellent condition.
Regular grip with a nut width of approximately 42.6 mm. The adjustment rod works well and has plenty of room.
The 6th string is set at 2.0mm and the 1st string is set at 1.5mm on the 12th fret.
This is a set for fairly low finger picking, so you can set it up comfortably if you wish.
It's smooth and easy to play up to the high positions, and the pitch balance is good.
I don't think I'll play this instrument very hard with a flat pick, so I think a set like this would be fine.
It has a dead, muddy tone that is typical of vintage Gibson, but it has a crisp and responsive tone.
It has a slightly rough, muddy, and atmospheric tone, but it's not a gorgeous, luxurious sound.
I think it's nice to have a sound that doesn't get too loud and brings out the vocals when playing.
As a premium vintage instrument, it is very rare, and although the price has skyrocketed, I think it is a valuable instrument.
It is very difficult to find one in such a beautiful condition with the original brown case.
