This Rockford pocket watch is a brilliant piece indeed. This is a huge coin silver swing out case and signed "Waltham Coin" and the serial number is 70,122. Across this monster case is almost 60mm and must be 4 0r 5 ounces of silver as it is that big. The crystal is glass and perfect. Now for the good part lol, The train on the back is not worn! it is prob 90% excellent and crisp. The dial is from the Rockford factory though has a private name and it reads "I.G Dillon, Wheeling W.Va". Dillion's was a famous early dept. store that sold Vacheron watches and only high grade Rogers Sterling silver sets etc. This is no different as this is a Rockford top of the line movement model 4 from 1883! There are 15 clean and inspected jewels to this nickel finished Rockford movement and yes it is a stem wind and lever set model. The serial number for this gem is 194,508 which tells me this piece was produced only 8 years after the factory opened as this piece was produced in the year 1883 as mentioned prior and keeps amazing time as I have serviced this Rockford with a new mainspring and it really is a small piece of history you can enjoy!
