Next up is a historic bowl from Zia Pueblo, New Mexico.  This will date to the 1930s based on the design characteristics.  It carries a very strong design on the upper band with feather motifs as illustrated in the final image.  The top of the rim is painted with a narrow black line that separates the exterior from the highly polished red slip interior.  The lower band on the exterior is also highly polished red separated from the upper band by two black lines.  This bowl is unusual in that it has/had two handles, one of which broke off in historic times and was repaired ethnographically as evidenced by the hole through the body through which a leather thong would have passed to reattach the missing handle.  There is still food residue encircling the upper portion of the interior.  The bowl is beautifully patinated from use.

Because this item will have to be double boxed the handling and flat rate shipping will be $35.00.
